I95 Extrication |

On February 21st, 2025 at 04:10Hrs The Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department along with the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department were dispatched to interstate 95 NB in the area of exit 18B MM 10.0 for a reported MVA with extrication. First arriving units located a single vehicle in the left lane facing the wrong direction of travel with a single occupant trapped in the vehicle barely breathing. Firefighters from the Village of Mamaroneck and Town of Mamaroneck worked together alongside each other using Hurst Tool eDraulics (Jaws of Life) and reciprocating saws to extricate a severely trapped occupant. Once sufficient access was gained the occupant was removed and placed in the care of EMS. The Victim survived the crash and is alive today because of the efforts of the firefighters from the Village of Mamaroneck and Town of Mamaroneck Fire and EMS agencies on scene.
